Importance of the evolution of Lean IT practices

In this Challenge we have learned the value of Lean and the meaning of continuous improvement, but where exactly does Lean IT fit in?

Simply putting the right information, delivering it to the right place, at the right time, in the right format, is a very powerful tool for continuous improvement. Information is the C in PDCA, the feedback that tells us whether the results have been achieved correctly. The accumulation and proper treatment of information lead to knowledge, and when harnessed correctly, progress towards individual and collective wisdom is our greatest competitive advantage.

Information is power. When an organization, be it a company or an authoritarian government, wants to control its people, they control information, this is a form of slavery. On the other hand, when an organization wants to empower its people, wants to develop the harnessing of collective potential to improve their situation, they freely distribute information. A good information system comprises a good mix of visual, manual, and electronic content. It is the key to constant improvement.
